Happy Birthday, Rick.

He works long days (and sometimes nights) at the hospital. He serves willingly as the youth leader for the boys in our church (which is quite a big time commitment, I must say.) He studies hard to do the very best he possibly can. He is so diligent in his scripture study and prayers. He exercises and plays sports to stay strong and healthy. He takes care of his boys, playing doctor with Carson nearly every evening and wrestling little Everett. He pretty much does it all, and then somehow he is still always extremely patient and loving and helpful to me, his little old wife.

And, in a few minutes he will come home to find me blogging instead of taking care of a messy house and an un-prepared dinner, and he will say something like, "Oh good! You deserve a break. Let me go tidy up a bit."

I am a lucky girl.

Happy birthday, Rick! Our family changed forever the day you were born. You are the addition we had been praying for. I remember when we got to see you in the hospital for the first time and asking if they got the right baby... I'm so glad they did :)!
I feel lucky to be your sister and your friend. I have always been inspired by you. Thanks for your love and faith!! Have a happy day tomorrow and remember birthdays are a blessing!!
love ya,
Jeanel

Happy Birthday, Rick! I can't wait for the day we get to hang out at some base in Germany or something. You're one of the best people I know, Rick, and I'm simply happy we got to know each other relatively early in our lives.

P.S. We should skype or something soon. Quick update: Step 1 on May 28 and marriage on June 12. Exciting times!
