What I'm trying to say is that Carson received a priesthood blessing on Sunday! He slept peacefully through the event, allowing his dad to calmly and confidently give him a beautiful blessing. We were very grateful that family and friends sacrificed their time to come and be part of Carson's big day.
I later recorded in Carson's journal the events of the day and the words of the blessing. It will be a memorable day not only because of the blessing, but also because of President Hinckley's passing. It was a neat thing for me to write about the prophet in Carson's journal. I think it's kind of a symbol of a new generation; President Hinckley was the prophet that I will always associate with my growing-up years, and now another great and inspired leader will be there for Carson during his. I find great comfort in knowing that the church smoothly and strongly rolls forward despite changes in leadership. It's evidence that Christ is the true leader of the church.

That is so neat...thanks for the slideshow...I really enjoyed it. And that will always be a special memory for Carson that he was blessed on such a "blessed" day. His outfit is cute...where did you end up finding it?? And where are you guys standing in the picture?? Is that your house?? Cute family picture.
Oh I wish that was our house!! Someday. It's Rick's sister's home. And we got his outfit at a place called Little Things Mean A Lot, where they sell second-hand or slightly damaged blessing and baptism clothing. It was still expensive though!!

Hearing your husband give your child their blessing is such a sweet and amazing experience, isn't it? Great family pic! I like your shirt. ;) Carson's hat is pretty sweet, too.
That was such a beautiful slideshow! Thank you for posting that and for being such a wonderful example of what our Savior expects of us! I appreciate your testimony and your efforts to serve in the Lord's kingdom! You're a wonderful example to the sisters of our ward and to me and my family!
